Mike Johnson is a Senior Engineer at Talisman. He has over 20 years of technical and management experience in naval and commercial nuclear power facilities. He worked as a project manager and technical analyst for SCIENTECH Inc. in their Licensing Information Service (LIS), Equipment Qualification Data Bank, and TRENDS Information Services for sixteen years. His work included hosting international conferences and domestic training seminars on computerized data base applications and utility best practices. He monitored, tracked and reported on current nuclear regulatory activities including: nuclear utility licensing submittals, Technical Specification amendments, equipment qualification, NRC inspections, and emergent technical issues. He has assisted in the preparation of expert witness testimony for nuclear utility rate cases and civil litigation. Mr. Johnson served as a submarine officer in the Naval Nuclear Power Program; he has expertise in the startup, testing, operation, and maintenance of pressurized water reactors and steam/electrical generation systems. He served as a nuclear submarine Quality Assurance Officer, responsible for approval and review of all ships nuclear, subsafe and controlled work packages. Mr. Johnson received a B.S. degree in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy.
