


Bob Hermann is a Nuclear Safety Consultant to Talisman. He has worked in the field of Materials Science for more than 30 years, providing expertise on regulatory and engineering issues for reactors in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to working for several private sector companies, Mr. Hermann worked for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for 25 years where he held senior-level positions in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) in the areas of licensing and operating reactors. Within NRR, he was involved in technical issues, as well as policy and international matters on both advanced and operating nuclear power plants. He led NRC efforts to convert the Provisional Operating Licenses at the ten oldest U.S. plants to Full Term Operating Licenses and to restart the TVA plants. Prior to his work at NRR, he was a Reactor Inspector in the NRC Region IV Office.
Mr. Hermann is an experienced Project Manager and Investigator. He is currently serving as Principal Investigator on a project to gain early NRC acceptance of ASME Repair Code cases of interest to the EPRI Repair and Replacement Application Center (RRAC) members. He recently assisted a client with the design and construction of a BWR reactor in China. He served as Program Manager for Third Party Reviews at Quad Cities, North Anna, Davis-Besse, and Turkey Point nuclear power plants. Additionally, Mr. Hermann has participated in litigation engagements, serving as a technical expert and assisting with testimony preparation. Mr. Hermann serves as a member of the ASME, Section XI Working Group on Welding and Special Processes and as a member of the Subgroup on Repair/Replacement Activities.
