Thomas Shirron is a computer engineer working in Talisman's Special Projects Group, and doing infrastructure management and cyber-security work. He has five years of experience providing technical support in various settings, including medical and academic environments. Thomas has previously worked in a large school district, supporting a mixed platform environment (Windows XP, 2000, Server 2003, Linux, OS 9, OS X) where he was in charge of trouble shooting a wide range of problems, from driver problems, to hardware failures and replacements, to server upkeep, and general user support. He has CCNA-level knowledge of networking equipment and devices, and training in network design, setup and maintenance.
Thomas is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering. While there, he took classes in digital hardware design and computer architecture, as well as software classes where he used C, C++, assembly, Pearl, and Python. Thomas holds an active security clearance from the United States Government.
